Elizabeth Wilson-Anstey, Ed.D., M.A.

At Weill Cornell, Dr. Wilson-Anstey was a member of the Admissions Committee, the Diversity Council, the Community Service Advisory Board, and the Weill Cornell Medicine Community Advisory Board. In addition, she was a member of the Committee on Diversity and Multicultural Affairs of the Associated Medical Schools of New York. For many years, she represented Weill Cornell at national and regional meetings of the Association of American Medical Colleges, and at colleges and universities throughout the U.S. Dr. Wilson-Anstey holds the firm belief that given encouragement, support, and correct information, motivated students can achieve their intended goals.

Dr. Wilson-Anstey has received many honors for her work advancing diversity in medical education. Weill Cornell awarded her the Pioneers in Diversity, Administrative Staff Award for extraordinary service, mentorship, and commitment to students at Weill Cornell and throughout New York City. She received the Excellence in Community Empowerment award from MAChO, a community service organization at Weill Cornell. She was inducted into the Hunter College Alumni Association Hall of Fame in recognition of outstanding achievement; received the Outstanding Citizenship Hall of Fame Award from MIPO, Making the Impossible Possible; and is the recipient of a Woman of Distinction Award from the New York State Assembly.

Dr. Wilson-Anstey’s portrait hangs outside the Office of Admissions at Weill Cornell Medicine. A lecture in her name is held annually during Diversity Week at Weill Cornell in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Travelers Summer Research Fellowship Program and for her inspiring commitment to diversity at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Dr. Wilson-Anstey attended the City University of New York, Hunter College, majored in Psychology, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1993. She completed her master’s degree in Higher Education at the New York University School of Education in 1999. In 2016, she completed her doctoral studies in the Ed.D. Program in Executive Leadership at St. John Fisher College. The focal point of her thesis is the “Effectiveness of the Travelers Summer Research Fellowship Program in Preparing Premedical Students for a Career in Medicine”. As of February 2022, her dissertation has been downloaded more than 450 times from Fisher Publications at St. John Fisher College.
